From 17 to 22 September 2019, Istanbul will host the Istanbul International Invention Fair (ISIF), an international event dedicated to the sharing of patents and innovative projects “on the borderline” between East and West.
For thousands of years Istanbul has been a metropolis suspended between East and West, a bridge between the Mediterranean and Asia, a melting pot of cultures, languages and traditions. The multiculturalism of old Constantinople is reflected in the spirit and philosophy of ISIF. The fair has always had the objective of spreading the culture of innovation at a global level and creating transnational partnerships. For the 6 days of the fair, the halls of the Istanbul-Atatürk airport will become an international crossroads where inventors from 30 countries around the world will be able to share skills and know-how, increase the international visibility of their patents and lay the foundations for cooperation at a global level. In 2018, ISIF launched 384 innovative technologies from 22 countries: the goal of the organizers is to repeat last year’s success, giving space to exhibitors from 30 countries. Inventors will present their patents and innovative projects and compete for 11 special awards and 200 gold, silver and bronze medals. All in the presence of an audience of over 1 million visitors.
The public will be the focus of many initiatives scheduled from 17 to 22 September. ISIF is not only an international exhibition of patents and inventions, but also an educational platform for learning and updating on innovation, intellectual property and management. Visitors will therefore have the opportunity to attend (free of charge) seminars, courses and workshops with qualified mentors and speakers from different countries of Europe and Asia. ISIF’19 will be held under the patronage of IFIA, with the honorary support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the support of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.
