The Chinese giant also inaugurated the school for bellboys in August, in collaboration with the French group Carrefour. That it is a fertile ground for innovation in the logistics sector?
According to the latest data, China has jumped to the top of the list in terms of turnover and presence of units in the electric automotive sector. For obvious reasons, mobility is becoming increasingly important in China. In addition to the leadership of electric cars, China is now also marking a step forward in the market for self-driven vehicles.
The project
Last August, in the city of Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu, an electric self-managed car 5g successfully made its first delivery. The vehicle, which resembles a mini-stealer, successfully picked up and delivered via smartphone a wholesaler who ordered a batch of drinks. Made by the Suning industries, the vehicle travelled for 5 minutes at an average speed of 8 km/h, reaching 15 km/h. According to the manufacturer, the vehicle can detect obstacles placed 100 meters away thanks to special sensors. In the event of a fault, a report is sent to the technicians, who, once the case is solved, restart the vehicle in autonomous driving mode.
Ling Yunfei, director of the Suning Logistics Group Research Institute, says that the self-driving vehicle has benefited from a technological upgrade since 2018. In the medium to long term, the company will build a control room that can control cars remotely.
