Maker Faire Vienna and The Patent: the partnership gets underway

The Patent Magazine is media partner of the 2020 edition of the Maker Faire Vienna on 3 and 4 October: more than 900 exhibitors and 15000 visitors are expected.

A new and prestigious international partnership has been signed between The Patent Magazine and Maker Faire Vienna. Maker Faire Vienna is the Austria’s biggest Do-It-Yourself festival at the interface of technology, innovation and science and in 2020 it celebrates its fifth anniversary. The event was originally scheduled in May but was postponed to October due to the Coronavirus emergency. On October 3rd & 4th, 900 Maker will show which topics and trends the maker movement is currently dealing with. Visitors can expect an extensive program of presentations, exhibitions, workshops, talks and hands-on activites. The editorial staff of “The Patent Magazine” will participate in the Viennese trade fair and will provide full media coverage with reports, articles and interviews with the protagonists.

Since its premiere in 2016 Maker Faire Vienna has established itself as an important event for the international maker movement. With more than 10.000 visitors last year Maker Faire Vienna is counted among the biggest Maker Faires in Europe among cities like Paris, Hannover and Rome. In 2020, Maker Faire Vienna will look back and reflect on five successful years of the festival. In addition to a retrospective on fascinating projects of the past five years Maker Faire Vienna will also look into the future: How can maker projects at the interface of technology, art, science und craftig contribute to overcome today’s biggest challenges – keyword: climate crisis? Innovative concepts, bottom-up initiatives and Citizen Science projects provide new food for thought at Maker Faire Vienna.
