Innovation and sustainable development: Sevastopol hosts NEW TIME 2019

“New Time”, one of the most important international trade fairs for innovations and inventions in Eastern Europe, is back again this year.

The 2019 edition will take place from 26 to 28 September in Sevastopol and will bring together the main innovators and inventors of the Russian Confederation and more than 28 countries around the world. Now in its 14th year, the Show is an information and exhibition platform for the development of partnerships between inventors, private stakeholders and public authorities. During the two-day exhibition, exhibitors will have the opportunity to present the results of their research, establish contacts with researchers and companies and market their patents. More than 100 innovative inventions and patents were exhibited in the 2018 edition.

One of the most important projects was presented by Engineer A. Levchenko of the Chemistry Department of Moscow State University: this is a system for increasing the efficiency of friction units of civil and military machines (cars, aircraft, shipbuilding, shipbuilding, etc.). The nanotechnology developed ensures greater wear resistance of steel parts and the creation of a stronger lubricant layer on the friction surface. The lubricating layer is controlled by applying special carbon-based anti-friction coatings (AP) to increase the structural order of the molecules in the specified layer. The patent was registered with the authorities of the Russian Federation under number 2230238.

New Time 2019 will dedicate space to many heterogeneous disciplines. Theoretical and applied physics, energy and electrical engineering, general mechanics, materials and construction theory, electronics, information technology, optics, laser technology, robotics, ecology, environmental protection, biophysics, biotechnology and bioengineering: these are just some of the thematic areas that will be represented in the Sevastopol Exhibition. All the projects presented will revolve around the themes of sustainable innovation and the management of transformation processes. The slogan of the 2019 edition is “Sustainable development during change”. The most successful projects will be awarded special prizes, medals and diplomas and a special contest for young inventors is planned.

New Time is organized by ROSPATENT, the Federal Agency for Intellectual Property in Moscow with the support of the Ministries of Defence, Education and Science, the Government and the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol, the Russian Society of Inventors and Rationalizers (VOIR). The Show is also supported by IFIA, the International Federation of Inventor Associations of which the VOIR is a full member.
