Samsung AirDresser, a magical laundry cabinet for cleaning laundry

Similar to a tall, narrow fridge, AirDresser uses a combination of air and steam to clean some clothes and then get rid of things like sweat and smoke odors

Samsung was one of the most active companies during CES 2020 in Las Vegas. One of the products presented is AirDress, an innovative wardrobe that cleans clothes. The company tries to takle the market for cleaning by proposing a more efficient and economical method. Operating a washer and dryer only for a few garments is not energetically convenient and, consequently, from the environmental point of view. AirDress uses a quieter and more delicate process.

Inside AirDresser there are three hangers on which clothes are hung, combined with powerful air jets. The thermal steam used kills bacteria, viruses and allergens and removes odours from smoke, sweat and food. The deodorizing filter helps the removal of odours, the process then ends with the dehumidification and sanitization of the wardrobe itself, acting as a dehumidifier for the room.

The treatment with the AirDresser is silent, Samsung claims that you could have the closet in the bedroom and not be disturbed by it. The treatment can also be used to sanitize items other than clothing, such as soft toys for children. AirDresser can use low temperatures, extending the life of the garments, especially with more delicate fabrics.

AirDresser is equipped with artificial intelligence that learns how to handle clothes and suggests the best way to clean theirself. The installation does not need a fixed water supply or a drain and is equipped with two containers at its base. The cabinet is available on the market but Samsung promises to continue its development, reducing the final size.
