TedPop: the camping tent that fits on the roof of the car

TedPop tent camping roof car

TedPop is a camping tent that fits on the roof of the car: it accommodates up to 5 people and can be set up in a matter of seconds and has a double entrance

Camping enthusiasts are accustomed to dealing with strange gadgets and tools. From the chip for recharging your smartphone with hot water to the bicycle cover that can be opened and closed in less than 15 seconds, there really is no limit to the imagination. Some have even thought of creating a camping tent that can be mounted on the roof of a car. That’s right: this is a solution that allows camping even on damp ground or where it is not advisable to pitch the classic “Canadian” tent. The product is called TedPop and is the result of the creativity of the designers of the South Korean company Teds. According to its producers, the strengths of TedPop are its ease of assembly and its spaciousness. The tent can be set up in just a few seconds and is “inexperienced camper-proof“: just watch the video to understand how it’s done!

The second hidden quality of TedPop is its spaciousness. The special design with four pistons in each corner of the tent allows the roof to be raised to gain a lot of space. The designers say it can accommodate five people, but perhaps watching the video we realised that it is better to have a maximum of four. The tent also has a double side entrance (with stairs to climb up and down the sides of the car) and a window on each side. TedPop’s roof has a transparent panel that allows you to look at the stars while lying comfortably inside. Made of polycotton canvas, the tent is available for pre-sale for $270. Buyers will not be able to use it for summer holidays but will receive it from September.
