Whatsapp: the new feature to “speed up” audio messages

Whatsapp is developing a new feature that will allow you to “speed up” the playback of audio messages sent by friends and relatives a bit too much logorrheic

It is not a real “invention” but it is certainly an innovation that will change (for the better) the lives of many of us. We’re talking about the new feature unveiled in these hours by the developers of Whatsapp. The online messaging giant – 1 billion 600 million active users in over 180 countries around the world – has announced the launch of a tool to speed up audio messages. That’s right: it will be a feature that will allow you to increase the speed of playback of the very long voice notes that are sent by friends and relatives a bit too logorrheic. It isn’t clear yet whether this will be an automatic setting or an option that the user will be able to activate and deactivate depending on the length of the audio file received. What is certain is that it will be a real salvation for those who have the “misfortune” of receiving every day recordings that never seem to end.

Whatsapp: a new feature to “speed up” audio messages

The new Whatsapp feature is still in development and we really know very little about how it works or the GUI. We do not know, for example, if the user will have a manual control of the playback speed or if rather there will be a button to play the audio in an accelerated way. Some anticipations have been leaked by WABetainfo, the US blog that has always closely followed the up-dates and news of the world’s most used messaging app. In a tweet that immediately went viral, the authors of WABetainfo said, “WhatsApp is finally testing an option to change the playback speed of voice messages. This feature is in development and will be available in a future update for iOS and Android.” We’ll just have to wait: wish we could speed up this wait too!
